STEP 1: WOLF DESCRIPTIONYour first step is to create your character. Your first post should be on the Wolf Descriptions board. Post a brief stat-sheet concerning your wolf, using the following form: Name:
Age:
Build: Fur color: Distinctive Markings: Eye color: Powermark:
Personality:
Name: Pretty self-explanatory. Do NOT include numbers, symbols, or other forms of silliness. And...some attempt at creativity is nice. "Ice-wolf" is not the best choice. Age: In seasons. This isn't difficult. Just multiply years by four ;D Build: Optional, but a good idea. Heavyset? Muscular? Lanky? Skinny? Tall? Stocky? Etc. You could also include any noticable disabilities, defects, or wounds here. Fur color: Pretty straightforward. Try to avoid the outlandish. There aren't too many fuschia-furred wolves walking around. Distinctive Markings: Also optional, but again, a good idea. Stripes? Dark spots? Etc. Eye color: This one, you can have fun with. We have no problem with crazy eye colors (although, "rainbow-striped with bright-neon lightning streaks of every color imaginable" might get you a few stares.) Powermark: This signifies your wolf's Elemental Power. You can read up on those here (history of the Powers) and here (description of each Power). Note: Your character can have only ONE Elemental Power. Also, your character will NOT have their Power until AFTER they have entered the Valley and AFTER one of the elemental leaders gives it to them. Therefore, don't incorporate their Power into any history you create for your character. The Powers are unique to the Valley. No other wolves anywhere have them. Personality: The more you put here, the better. This will dictate how the character plays, so you'll definitely want a rich feel for it. That's it! At this time, we have no "approval" process other than acceptance on the Lone Wolf's Path. We trust you to be responsible and create good, playable, interesting, and un-invincible characters. Enjoy.

STEP 2: HISTORYThis step is optional. If you wish, you may post your character's biography here, in the "Backgrounds" thread in the "Plot~ness" board. Please, if it's not too much trouble, run your piece through a spell check, maybe proofread it. It's ever so much easier to read that way, and it's what we expect on the RP boards anyway. But yes. Be creative! We can't wait to see what you come up with.

STEP 3: ENTER THE VALLEYThis is where it gets really fun! Create a new thread for your character (or characters, if they're traveling together) here, on the "Lone Wolf's Path." Typically, Path threads go as follows: Wolf enters new territory.
Wolf recognizes scent of new pack.
Wolf howls to alert resident pack to his/her presence (to avoid being deemed a trespasser and shredded )
Teca wolf appears shortly, looks newcomer over, welcomes into the territory, takes to meet the ayzras (our term for alphas).Notes: Unless you have the "Teca" title, please DO NOT reply to other character's Path threads. That's the Tecas' job, and they get sad if you step on their toes. And there ya go! Welcome to the pack! Once the Teca signals you to do so, you may start RPing on the current active thread (they'll tell you which one that is). If you'd like to look at examples of typical Path threads, you might read through Zayowind's or Osaze & Kubo's.

STEP 4: ROLE-PLAYINGThis is what it's all about, isn't it? ;D The way we role-play here is a little different than the way you may have seen elsewhere. There is no liquid-time effect; everything happens in sequence. There is exactly one active rp thread running at any given time. ALL wolves post ONLY in this thread. You can wander a little ways away from the group, but by keeping everything in the same thread, we keep time in perspective. Therefore, do NOT start your own thread somewhere and expect others to come join you. Rather, come join the active thread yourself. This is a mid-to-advanced level roleplay. We'd really like to see longer posts; no three-liners. There's plenty to talk about. What are you thinking? What's going on around you? Describe something. Remember something. Follow a train of thought leading up to saying something to another wolf. Find ways to fill out your posts and make them interesting. Also, please spellcheck. Grammar was invented for a reason... please use it. This keeps the board clean-looking and easy to read, and all-in-all makes for a better experience. Other than that, you should probably look through our Rules and get briefed on the current plot (usually, a brief rundown of it is found in the box at the top of the page). That's about all there is to it! See you in the Valley! ;D
